On Thursday, there were bats in the house.  First graders were treated to an in-house assembly on bats.  This assembly compliments our current science unit of study, animals.  The students learned lots of information about bats.  Back in the classroom we read two projectable books using our Mimio Teach about bats and we also wrote about them in our journals.

Today Clifford the Big Red Dog came to our classroom for a visit.  Each student got to hug and "high 5" Clifford.

Our topic in math is geometry.  We had lots of fun making original pictures, and copying pictures using pattern blocks.
