Week 1 in first grade!

Please help me in congratulating Sobha Singh for being Artsonia's Artist of the Week.  Artsonia is a nationwide art company that recognizes young artists.  Sobha received a plaque and a gift certificate for her hard  work.  People from around the country voted for her artwork.  Awesome job Sobha!

Kids Teach Too

Today, Benson students had the opportunity to teach something to their classmates and staff.  We had several participants from our class.  Jayce taught about Pokemon.  Alex, Giuliana, and Sofia taught us about dance.  Clementine did an awesome experiment using Skittles.  Sobha taught us about her religion, Seikh and Jaclyn and Ryan made a volcano explode.  How cool is that?

Hello From Room 8!

Yesterday we had a fun morning when Chris from the Nature Center came to our classroom.  She taught us lots of things about fish and birds.  Did you know you can tell if a fish is a quick or slow swimmer just by looking at its tail?  Did you know that boy birds are usually the ones with colorful feathers?  So much was learned about fish and birds.  We hope you like our photos.

What a fun day at Benson School.  We were lucky to have a real published author come to our school.  His name is Aaron Reynolds.  Mrs. Reuter has been reading all of his books to the students.  She also made a backdrop for two of the books that he wrote, Creepy Carrots and President Squid.  We hope you enjoy our photos.  Please join us tonight for Author Family Night and meet Aaron Reynolds.  The time is 6:30.
