What a fun and educational morning. Dr. Amayun, Adeline's dad came in to speak with us about caring for our teeth. He brought along Mrs. Amayun and little brother Spencer to assist. Dr. Amayun showed us how to brush properly and we practiced brushing using Legos filled with Play-Doh. We also got to put on gear that a dentist might wear such as a hair net, face mask, and gloves. We got to touch real dental instruments as well. We also looked at and touched real jaws and models of teeth. Thank you Amayun family for taking the time to come visit with Room 8 today.

Hello, we had a great morning with a visit from Miss Chris from the Springbrook Nature Center. She spoke to the students about animals. We learned about different parts of animals and did some fun activities. Here are some photos from her visit. I have also included some photos from Kids Teach Too. We had eight students from our class participate. The presentations were very impressive.

Hello
Today in math we used a non-standard unit of measurement (unifix cubes) to estimate and measure. We discussed that an estimate is a "good" guess and when you measure you get a "correct" measurement. Did you know that I am 81 unifix cubes long? Neither did I. In science, we used flashlights to communicate by using Morse Code. It was a fun afternoon.
