Happy Hundredth Day of School!!!!

Yes, we made it and we celebrated all day.  We began by writing about "When I am 100 years old...."  The children's thoughts are hilarious.  I will compile their work into a class book that your child may check out.  We wrote and read 100 sight words.  We played a math dice game called "Race to 100."  We also shared our 100 collections.  Our class wanted to know which collection weighed the most, and which collection weighed the least so we put the different items on a balance scale.  The bag of Starburst and Skittles weighed the most.  We are waiting for one collection to arrive on Monday to see which collection weighs the least.  Fun Day!!!!

Hi First Grade Parents,

I have some photos for you to enjoy.  The first few are from our First Grade Informance that was held last Friday.  The rest are from today's Wacky Wednesday fun! Today's story was a fable entitled Fox and Stork.  We had a competition between the boys and girls to see which group did a better job reading the story.  I was the judge and it was a tie.  Both the boys and the girls did an outstanding job being fluent readers and reading with expression.  Both did an excellent job retelling the story from beginning to end.  After we read our story we "Relaxed and Spelled" our spelling and bonus words.
