What a morning it was!  The first and second graders went into the library to participate in our annual pajama read-a-thon, READ FOR 2015.  That means we either read or were read to for 2,015 seconds or about 33 1/2 minutes.  It was very crazy in there with over 250 children and adults.  I did my best to photograph all the students in our classroom.

Yesterday we practiced our ever improving reading skills by reading a story entitled Space Pup "back to back" with a partner.  Space Pup is a fantasy story about an ordinary dog named Gus that becomes Space Pup at night.  Space Pup helps people in need.  We really liked the story.  Enjoy our "Reading Fun" photos.  Again, please accept my apologies if I missed anyone in the photos.

What an afternoon it was.  We paraded through the school in our costumes and upon our return to our classroom we had an awesome party.  We would like to thank our party planners: Mrs. Positano, Mr. Shah, Mrs. Schenck, and Mrs. Hofstetter.  The kids had a terrific time playing games and doing a craft.  Please enjoy our Halloween photos.

Yesterday was Wacky Wednesday!
We read our basal story, "Dan's Pet" backwards.  We started at the end of the story and read to the beginning.  We discussed how important it is to recall events in order and we discovered how confusing the story was when not read in sequence.  Later, we read the story in pairs, the right way, from beginning to end.  We then practiced our spelling words in a very relaxing way.  Enjoy our Relax and Spell photos.
