Today we visited the Cernan Earth and Space Center.  We learned about rockets, planets, constellations and space in the planetarium.  It was very cool.  Thanks to Mrs. D'Ambrosia for being our parent chaperone.

Yesterday was the 100th day of school for our first graders. We did a lot of fun activities.  We wrote about "When I am 100 year old..."  We will publish our work and and students will be allowed the check the book out.  We played a math game of rolling to 100.  Each student rolled two dice, added the numbers together and put a tally next to the number rolled.  The game ended with 100 tallies.  We got in some exercise by doing a 100th day workout.  We jogged in place for 100 seconds.  Then we did 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 10 push-ups, 10 lunges, 10 toe touches, 10 frog jumps, 10 arm circles, 10 criss-cross jumps, 10 high knees and 10 favorite dance moves. The first graders shared their 100's day collections.  We predicted which collection was the heaviest and which was the lightest and then we put the items on a balance scale.  We found that 100 inch-long pieces of yarn weighed the least and 100 markers weighed the most.  We ended the day by reading a 100th day poem,
