Today we read our weekly basal story like a cowboy/cowgirl and said "Yee-Ha" each time we turned a page.  We also practice our spelling words in a wacky way by doing Dance and Spell.  I play music, the students dance, and stop when the music ends.  Then the students write one of the spelling words.  We do this 10 times until we practice all of our words.  We also had a visit from Nurse Renee.  She spoke to us about the importance of washing our hands.

We had some very special friends visits our classroom today.  I hope that I was able to get a photo of everyone.  I did my best, but it was a little crazy in room 8.

In science we have been studying weather.  Today we went outside and became "weather watchers."  We saw cirrus, stratus and cumulus clouds.  We wrote about our observations.

Happy Wacky Wednesday!

We celebrate Wacky Wednesday most Wednesdays.  On this day, we practice our spelling words and read our weekly story in a "Wacky Way."  Today we read our story, "Sam and the Bag" in a MAD voice and we wrote our spelling words using "rainbow" colors.  We hope you enjoy the photos.

We read the story "The Hat" in our reader.  For a writing activity, the children were asked to bring in a hat and write about it.  We were working on writing complete sentences with correct punctuation.  It was lots of fun and here are some photos to share.
