First graders are busy getting back into the swing of things after our winter break. In science, we are talking about Matter. We are discussing the properties of solids, liquids, and gases. Today, we went around the room to see which solids would attract to a magnet and which would not. We learned that not all metals are magnetic. Only solids that have iron, nickel or cobalt will attract to a magnet. We also learned about the poles of a magnet.
